Farmer falls prey to crocodile

Saragur: A farmer falling prey to a crocodile and the croc partially devouring the farmer’s body has been reported from Kapila River near K. Belthur village yesterday.

The deceased farmer is Shankaranayaka (56) of K. Belthur village. The deceased on Monday early morning had gone to the banks of the river to attend nature’s call when the crocodile attacked him and dragged him into the river.

Villagers, who went near the spot, saw the crocodile devouring the body of Shankaranayaka on the island of the river and chased the crocodile. They later retrieved the half-eaten body. 

The deceased leaves behind his wife, one son, two daughters and a host of relatives and friends.
