Farmer killed as earth-moving machine hits bike

Mysore/Mysuru: A farmer, who was proceeding on his bike was killed when an earth-moving machine hit his bike near Manuganahalli Gate on Hunsur Road yesterday evening.

The deceased is Puttappa (45), son of late Nanjappa and a resident of Chikkaddanahalli village near here.

Yesterday at about 6.30 pm, Puttappa was proceeding on his bike from Bilikere side towards Yelwal, when the earth- moving machine hit the bike resulting in Puttappa falling to the ground and sustaining  serious injuries. Though he was rushed to a private hospital in city, Puttappa succumbed to injuries at about 7.30 pm. 

Bilikere Police, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar, registered a case and seized both the vehicles.

Post-mortem was conducted this morning at Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) mortuary and the body was handed over the family members.
