Mysuru: Kirangur Papu (Mohan Kumar), leader of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, has called for action against Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Ashaad-Ur-Rehman Shariff and other MCC officials, accusing them of dictatorial behaviour in the home district of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
“CM Siddaramaiah claims that his Government is people-friendly and working for the welfare of farmers, the poor and the general public. However, the officials of MCC are completely indifferent to the problems faced by farmers, marginalised communities and the public,” he said.
“When people submit applications, they are simply forwarded to MCC Zonal Officers without any follow-up. As a result, these applications are not cleared within the prescribed time-frame and applicants are left in the dark about the status of their requests,” Kirangur Papu said.
He further emphasised that Government officials, who are public servants, must show the courtesy to listen to and address the concerns of the people.
“It is unfortunate that a person who maintains distance from the public has been appointed as the MCC Commissioner. People are forced to make repeated visits to the Zonal Offices for years, as officials are unconcerned with clearing files. They continuously avoid the public by offering one excuse after another,” the farmer leader alleged.
