Farmers block Mysuru-Bannur Road in front of new DC’s office

Farmers, under the banner of Samuhika Nayakatvadalli Rajya Raitha Sene and Hasiru Sene, staged a ‘rasta roko’ in front of the new Deputy Commissioner’s office on Bannur Road in Siddarthanagar, in city this morning. The farmers demanded for the implementation of Dr. M.S. Swaminathan’s Report and announcement of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops. The protest caused inconvenience to the motorists as they were seen stranded for hours on the main road. Earlier, the farmers assembled at Nazarbad Police Station Circle on tractors and other vehicles before holding a protest rally till the DC’s office.
