Mysuru: Seeking filling up of water bodies in Harohalli GP limits of Mysuru taluk, over 50 farmers under the banner of Raitha-Krishi Karmika Sanghatane (RKS) staged a demonstration in front of the ZP office here yesterday.

Maintaining that Vadavinakatte, Katuru, Kabbagere and Kallahalli lakes coming under Harohalli GP limits are the lifeline of the farmers in the taluk, the farmers urged the authorities to fill up the lakes and release water in order to save the standing crops, which are wilting, with no monsoon rains in sight so far.

Earlier, the farmers marched in a procession from Nanjumalige to the ZP office, where a memorandum was presented.
