November 4, 2023

Chamarajanagar: State Sugarcane Growers Association has decided to stage a protest in front of the house of Chief Minister (CM) Siddharamaiah in Mysuru on Nov. 9, for the failure of Congress Government to fulfil the demands of farmers.

Working President of the Association Hallikerehundi Bhagyaraj, who addressed the meeting of farmers at the meeting convened at Tourist Bungalow in the town yesterday, said: “The State Government has totally failed in ensuring that the sugarcane growers of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts get their dues from sugar factories, which has accumulated beyond Rs. 25 crore.”

Urging for fulfilment of various demands including the waiving of loans advanced by Primary Agriculture Credit Cooperative Society, in drought hit districts, the indefinite protest has been planned in front of CM’s house in Mysuru.
