Farmers to block National Highways on Nov. 26

November 23, 2021

Seeking repealment of amendments to APMC Act and State Land Reforms Act, farmers, in association with a host of Labour Unions, Dalit organisations and other like-minded associations, will stage rasta-roko on National Highways across the State on Nov. 26, marking the first anniversary of farmer protests against the three Farm Laws.   Prime Minister Modi had announced on Friday last that the laws would be repealed.

Samyukta Horata Karnataka Organisation, which is spearheading the Highway blockade, said that the Opposition Congress has assured support. It has urged Chief Minister Bommai to withdraw the amendments to APMC and Land Reforms Acts, which it claimed was detrimental to the interests of the farmers.
