Mysore/Mysuru: Urging for fulfilment of their various demands, farmers under the leadership of State Farmers’ Association, will lay siege to the Office of the Sugar Directorate Commissioner at Bengaluru on Aug. 21.

Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here on Monday, Mysuru District Sugarcane Growers Association General Secretary Hosakote Basavaraju said “The siege is being organised to demand the fulfilment of our various demands including the fixation of Fair Remuneration Price(FRP) for sugarcane by the State Government, payment of arrears of Rs.150 per ton as fixed by the previous BJP Government and factories should take the responsibility of  harvesting of sugarcane.”

Mandya District Farmers Association president Kempegowda, Mysuru District President Hosur Kumar, leaders Prasanna N Gowda, Bokkalli Nanjundaswamy and others were present.
