The Depart-ment of Mechanical Engineering, NIE, has organised a one-week Faculty Development Programme on “Energy Management ISO 50001 and Environmental Assurance” [EMEA-2017] from Mar.13-18 sponsored by TEQIP-II (a Govt. of India Project) to demonstrate the importance of ISO 50001 which is an internationally recognised energy management standard that outlines a framework for improving energy performance.
The programme was inaugurated at NIE’s Sir M.V. Auditorium, Golden Jubilee Complex this morning by Dr.S.Seetharamu, Technical Adviser, NDRF & former Director, CPRI, Bengaluru.
Sunil Sood, Energy Consultant, IAEMP, Bengaluru and G. Natarajan, Consultant and Trainer, Energy Management, Bengaluru, were the guests of honour. G.S. Ramachandra, Secretary, NIE, presided.
During the 6-day sessions, the Co-ordinators have planned a total of 12 invited expert lectures followed by industrial visits, Environmental Laboratory visits, case studies etc. The organisers have arranged two sessions in the morning and two sessions in the evening daily.
The organisers have invited 12 resource persons from leading organisations and Institutes.
