Felicitation marks Dance School anniversary

Mysuru:  Sri Nrutya Niketana Bharatanatya School, as part of its 18th anniversary celebrations, had organised a function at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road here recently.

Speaking on the occasion, Department of Kannada and Culture Assistant Director H. Channappa said that all cultural organisation staging Government-sponsored programmes should seek permission from the Department for   the programme.

He further said that during Dasara, over 2,000 organisations seek an opportunity to stage cultural programmes but only about 200 would get     a chance.

He contended that Mysuru was truly a cultural capital and asked parents to encourage their children in extra-curricular activities. He commended the organiser of the function in promoting art.

The Annual Day of ‘Chethana’ Pre-school and ‘Kaushala’ Pre-vocational Centre was celebrated under the auspices of Swasahaya Samuchhaya (Parents Association of Mentally Retarded and Cerebral Palsied Children) at the School premises in Saraswathipuram here recently.

Dr. Shilaja Sampath Kumar, who was the chief guest on the occasion, released the newsletter of the Institute — ‘Special Child’ and distributed the Mirle Vishwanath Memorial Awards.

Samuchhaya President K.V. Panduranga Setty presided over the function. Secretary B.K. Rama Prasad introduced the chief guests. Vice-President K.V. Muthalik proposed a vote of thanks. Treasurer Manjula Prabhakar compered. Krishnamurthypuram Sri Rama Mandira Secretary Maadhurao and Treasurer Sheshadri,  Samuchhaya Joint Secretary Suresh Vagele and Programme Co-ordinator Vanishree were present.
