FEMTO, AI-in-a-Box platform launched at JSS Pharmacy College

Mysuru: Marking an important step to build advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure from Mysuru for organisations across India and the world, city-based Vigyanlabs Innovations Pvt. Ltd. has launched FEMTO, AI-in-a-Box platform in city.

FEMTO is designed to bring powerful AI computing infrastructure directly to an organisation’s own premises. The platform combines high-performance GPU computing and AI infrastructure in an integrated system, enabling organisations to run AI workloads while retaining greater control over their data, models and computing environment.

The event also marked unveiling of Airawatt, the new mascot representing the FEMTO Sovereign AI Experience.

Former ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somanath, who launched FEMTO at an event held at JSS College of Pharmacy here recently, said: “Mysuru is known across the world for its rich heritage and culture and it is now steadily moving towards becoming a technology-driven city. FEMTO, which has been completely designed and developed in Mysuru, is a good example of this transformation. It sets a strong benchmark for the development of advanced AI infrastructure from the city. It is particularly encouraging to see a technology of this scale being developed in Mysuru, while also focusing on cost efficiency and environmental sustainability.”

Srinivas Varadarajan of Vigyanlabs said, “FEMTO represents our vision of building globally relevant deep technology from Mysuru. As AI becomes increasingly important across industries and nations, organisations need computing infrastructure that gives them greater control over their data, models and AI workloads. With FEMTO, we are bringing powerful and sustainable AI computing infrastructure directly to organisations.”

The launch event also featured discussions involving experts from the technology, space and academic sectors on the future of sovereign AI, AI infrastructure and the role of innovation in building India’s digital capabilities.
