Mysuru: The State Government has finally decided to construct the proposed Film City of international standards at Immavu in Mysuru.

A meeting in this regard was chaired by Urban Development and District Minister Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah with officials of Department of Information and Publicity at Vikasa Soudha in Bengaluru yesterday.

He instructed the officials to ensure the implementation of the project at the earliest and see to it that the Film City, to be constructed under Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, was on international standards.

The District Minister also informed the officials to come out with a plan considering the tourism and cultural relevance of Mysuru.  

“Apart from being one of the most preferred tourism destinations in the country, Mysuru is known for its rich culture, tradition and heritage. Film City project will not only help the growth of our culture but will also boost the financial growth,” he added.

He said the Film City must not be restricted only for film shootings but provide modern studios and technical infrastructure essential for film industry. Information Secretary J. Manjunath and other officials were present.
