101 artistes to be feted

Mysuru: Shivaji Pictures and Zoom Creations together have organised a function on Nov.22 at 5 pm at Kalamandira here to felicitate 101 artistes, who have excelled on big and small screens along with the announcement of a new organisation aimed at encouraging young artistes.

Addressing a press meet atPathrakartara Bhavan here on Thursday, actor Junior Narasimharaju said that Mysuru was ideal for film shooting and welcomed the Government’s move to establish a film city in Mysuru.

However, he observed that thousands of artistes of the district were disappointed for lack of opportunities. Hence, he said that an Association would be formed comprising the artistes, producers, directors and technicians, the name of which would be announced at the function on Nov 22.

The new Association would strive for the welfare of budding artistes, he added.
