February 22, 2018

Mysuru:  Sparks of fire spotted in the bonnet of a KSRTC bus created panic among the passengers for sometime near the check post on Mysuru-Nanjangud Road here yesterday morning. However, no one was injured in the incident.

The KSRTC bus belonging to Nanjangud depot, left Nanjangud to Mysuru at about 10 am. When the bus neared Bandipalya check post, the driver noticed smoke emanating from the bonnet and immediately brought the bus to a halt. But thick smoke had engulfed the bus creating panic among the passengers, who broke the window and rear glasses of the bus and jumped out of the vehicle.

Soon, Fire and Emergency Services personnel, who reached the spot, doused the fire and prevented the fire from spreading further.
