Fire cracker explosion: Death toll rises to two

Mysuru: The death toll in the firecracker explosion that took place at Madapura in H.D. Kote taluk of the district on Friday last, has risen to two, with Mallanayaka (60), who was seriously injured in the incident, succumbing to injuries at K.R. Hospital here yesterday.

A total of seven persons, including five teenaged boys, sustained burn injuries when the fire crackers being manufactured and stored at a building at Madapura, triggered an explosion on Jan.26.

The building also collapsed under the impact of the blast. All the injured were rushed to K.R. Hospital where Harish (28), breathed his last a couple    of days ago. The death toll rose to two with Mallanayaka, who had also sustained serious burn injuries, breathing his last in the hospital yesterday.
