Mysore/Mysuru: Shri Dharmasthala Manjunathe-shwara Institute for Management Development (SDM-IMD) organised the First Annual Convocation of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved one-year full-time Post-Graduate Certificate in Management (PGCM) Programme (2020-21 batch) on Jan. 27 through Virtual Mode.
Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala and Chairman of SDM-IMD Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, who presided, awarded the Certificate to 11 students. Gold Medal for Overall Excellent Performance was given to Bhargav G. Upadhyay. Other toppers are: Aimen Javeed, Anush, Clifford, Dikshith, Drishya, Santhosh Kumar, Arun Varma, Navaneeth, Pushkaraj, and Sagar Jevoor.
In his convocation address, Dr. Heggade said SDM-IMD has been striving to build up overall personalities and character in the students. His desire is to have students excel in their corporate or own ventures and concurrently holding aloft Indian values and ethos. Speaking on the changing vistas of higher education, Dr. Heggade opined that New Education Policy (NEP) has several postulates, which is practised by Dharmasthala Group of Institutions ever since they forayed into education.
He stressed on the educational system which upholds the Indian values and the Indian spirit for integrity, reverence, gratitude and social responsibility.
Advising the graduating students, Dr. Heggade said ‘young managers should have temperamental framework in leading a life of fulfilment and the same time be successful in their avocations.’ Dr. N.R. Parasuraman, Director of the Institute, presented a brief report highlighting the activities and achievements of the Institute.
