Sanjay Koul to deliver Convocation Address

Mysore/Mysuru: The 29th Annual Convocation of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDM-IMD) will be held on Apr. 5 at 3 pm at the Institute in Siddarthanagar, foot of Chamundi Hill in city.

Sanjay Koul, Chairman & Managing Director, Timken India Limited, will be the chief guest and deliver Convocation Address.

Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala and Chairman, SDM-IMD, will preside.

The Institute will be awarding Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) to outgoing students of 2022-2024 batch. Students who have excelled in specialisation areas will be receiving Gold Medals.

 In addition, there will be two more coveted awards — the Chairman’s Gold Medal for Overall Best Academic Performance and the Ankur Gupta Memorial Gold Medal for Overall Best Performance.

Dr. (Lt. Col.) S.N. Prasad, Director of the Institute, will present the Annual Report.

Profile: Sanjay Koul is the Managing Director of all operations in India for The Timken Company. He has responsibility for business and manufacturing operations, financial performance and acceleration of growth in the markets in India.

Koul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science and a Master’s degree in Business Management from Xavier Labour Relations Institute.

Sanjay Koul joined Timken in 1990 as a Production Engineer and was among the first set of employees of the company in India. Since then, he has served in additional positions within the rail and supply chain & sales organisations. In 2007, he was named General Manager of the Jamshedpur Plant. Two years later, he was named General Manager of supply chain operations in Asia working out of Wuxi, and in 2011, he was named Director of manufacturing and supply chain management for Asia.
