Vidwath 2K24: KLE College, Hubballi, emerges overall champions

Mysore/Mysuru: Vidwath 2K24, the two-day State-level Inter-College Biztech Extravaganza, organised by Vidyavardhaka First Grade College was inaugurated at P.M. Chikkaboraiah Hall at the College premises on Seshadri Iyer Road in city on Mar. 22.

Speaking after inaugurating the event, Shashidhara Dongre, Global Head – Process and Quality Centre Head, L&T Technology Services, Mysuru, highlighted the uniqueness found in every individual, who are born as passionate for some things.

Pointing out that identification of problems, area of problems and solution for the problems lies in the hands of every individual through his or her rational thinking, life and work balance, he said that the employer must think of ethics, humanitarian values and integrity first, later their intelligence and skills.

B.P. Prasad, Vice-President of Quality Rossell Tech System, a Division of Rossell India Ltd., Bengaluru, who was the chief guest, began his speech by asking the students a few thought-provoking questions. Through these questions, he imbibed self-confidence in every student to express that he or she is talented, intelligent and self-reliant.

He concluded by saying, “Today’s younger generation are not open-minded, have knowledge gaps, lacks self-confidence and thinks luck by chance but not by choice,” and advised the students to overcome these hindrances in life.

Vidyavardhaka Sangha (VVS) Hon. President Gundappa Gowda, in his presidential address gave an insight about the inception of VVS and the gradual progress of the college. He also highlighted the significance of co-curricular activities.

The valedictory of Vidwath 2K24 was held on Mar. 23 at the same venue.

Suresh Narayan, General Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis at Cyient DLM Ltd., Mysuru and  an alumnus of Vidyavardhaka College, was the chief guest.

In his address he opined that the young students of today were forgetting the ethics and values of life and felt that knowledge without application was useless.

He emphasised on the importance of five alphabets ABCDE in which A stands for Attention; B – Business ideas and thoughts; C – Communication skills; D – Discipline and E – Ethics and code of conduct.

He later distributed prizes to winners of various competitions held as part of Vidwath 2K24.

A total of 20 colleges with 56 teams took part in the core events and 20 colleges with 120 teams took part in non-core events.

KLE College of Business Administration, Hubballi, was declared winner with a cash prize of Rs. 15,000 and Overall Championship Trophy. St. Agnes College, Mangaluru, was declared as the runner-up.

VVS Secretary P. Vishwanath presided. Treasurer Shrishaila Ramannavar, College Principal Dr. S. Marigowda, Organising Secretary Prof. N. Geetha, Event staff Co-ordinators Prof. R. Vidya and Prof. M. Harshitha and others were present.
