LS Polls: Rs. 6.13 crore cash seized in State including Hunsur

Mysore/Mysuru: With Lok Sabha (LS) polls round the corner, election officials have seized Rs. 6.13 crore cash at various check-posts across the State in a single day including Rs. 15.96 crore in Mysuru-Kodagu Constituency.

The Static Surveillance Team (SST) seized Rs. 15,96,078 cash in Hunsur (Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha Constituency) while other SST seized Rs. 5.36 crore at Hejjala check-post (Bengaluru Rural Lok Sabha Constituency) and Rs. 26 lakh in Ballari Lok Sabha Constituency, totalling Rs. 6,13,70,148, said a release from State Chief Election Commissioner.

The election officials have also seized 700 wall clocks worth Rs. 1.68 lakh, liquor worth Rs. 52.51 lakh, 213 kgs of sandalwood, 112 quintal rice worth Rs. 34.27 lakh and narcotic substances worth Rs. 12.34 lakh, said the release.
