First Kadali Yatre in city on May 26

Sharana Sahitya Parishat, Mysuru City Unit, Kadali Mahila Vedike, Mysuru, in association with J.P. Nagar Sharana Vedike, Mysuru and Arivina Mane Mahila Balaga, J.P. Nagar, Mysuru, have organised Kadali Yatre on May  26 at 7 am from Puttaraja Gawai Stadium to the bust of Akka Mahadevi in J.P. Nagar. It is for the first time, Kadali Yatre is being taken out in the city to publicise Akka Mahadevi’s vachana with the blessings of Suttur Mutt Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji.

Over 100 women, which includes the members of 20 Balagas of the Vedike, will pass through the main thoroughfares of J.P. Nagar rendering Vachanas. Akashvani artiste Shyla Sidra-mappa is training the women by conducting classes on rendering Vachanas, according to Sharana Sahitya Parishat Mysuru City Unit President M.G. Sadanandaiah.
