FISA – Futsal Tournament Concludes: Vikings bags winner’s trophy ; Blue Bells emerges runners-up

Vikings team defeated Blue Bells 2-1 in finals of Federation of International Students Association (FISA) Futsal Tournament held at KMFC Turf, opposite K.R. Mill, here yesterday. Vikings team was a mix of Yemen and Sudan players — Walled, Ahmed, Othman, Khalid, Azzam and Tariq — while Blue Bells team included Arab and African players — Mass, Dampha, Justus, Penji, Rohodreg, Hassan and Ali.

While Sami Abdullah of Yemen bagged Golden Boot with Hat-trick, Bashir of Unity FC and Husam of Iran won ‘Best Player’ and ‘Best Goalkeeper’ titles respectively.

Earlier in the group stages, as per the rules, since Somalia withdrew from the tournament, Vikings were given 2-0 walk-over on day-2 and all of Somalia’s results were terminated. All teams in Group-B were given 2-0 walk-over against Somalia.

In the semi-finals played yesterday, Blue Bells beat Iran 2-1 and Vikings beat Unity FC 2-0 to reach finals.
