Five Dandupalya gang members sentenced to life imprisonment

Bengaluru: A Special Court in Central Prison, Parappana Agrahara on Thursday, sentenced to life five members of the dreaded Dandupalya gang in connection with the murder of Geetha of Agrahara Dasarahalli on Magadi road, in Kamakshipalya Police limits in Nov. 2000.

Those convicted are Dodda Hanuma, Venkatesh, Munikrishna, Lakshmi and Nalla Thimma. Special Court Judge Shivanagowda also slapped a fine of Rs. 5,000 on each of them.

The prosecution had charged that the accused gained entry into Geetha’s house when she was alone, on the pretext of asking for drinking water and later mercilessly stabbed her.

They also decamped with her gold ornaments before fleeing.
