Mysuru: Devaraja Police have arrested five persons who were planning to commit dacoity near Cheluvamba Hospital on Sunday night.

The arrested are Sameer Pasha, Iliyaz Pasha, Syed Saleem, Saleem and Syed Saleem, all residents of Udayagiri in city. 

The accused were arrested when they were holding stones, knives and sticks and planning to ambush passerby near the hospital.

During interrogation, the accused are said to have told the Police that they had stolen mobile phones and purses from those sleeping in K.R. Hospital and Cheluvamba Hospital premises, near Mysore Palace, Bus Stand and at other places during rush hours.

Mobile phone snatched near K.R. Circle: A miscreant has snatched a mobile phone from a pedestrian near K.R. Circle on Sunday evening.

The pedestrian, who lost his mobile phone, is Vaidyanath. 

He was walking near K.R. Circle when the miscreant, who came from front, managed to lift Redmi Note mobile phone which he had kept in his pocket and fled from the spot. 

Devaraja Police, who have registered separate cases, are investigating.
