Shocked tractor driver commits suicide in Mysuru
Gundlupet: A five-year-old boy was killed when a tractor reportedly ran over him yesterday morning and the tractor driver, who fled from the spot, committed suicide by consuming pesticides in Mysuru.
The tragedy took place when the tractor was levelling the ground on the outskirts of Savakanahalli Palya village in the taluk. While the deceased boy has been identified as Harsha (5), son of Mudda and Nagamani couple of Savakanahalli Palya, the tractor driver, who committed suicide, is Sunil (28).
Details: Yesterday morning, a few youths of the village had summoned three tractors to level the ground on the outskirts of the village to play cricket. Harsha too had accompanied the youths to the ground.
While levelling the ground, the tractor, with Sunil at the wheels reportedly ran over Harsha injuring him seriously. Though Harsha was being rushed to a hospital in Gundlupet, he is said to have breathed his last midway.
A case has been registered at Begur Police Station in this regard.
Commits suicide: Shocked over the incident, Sunil who had fled from the spot soon after the incident, went to his brother’s house at Vijayanagar 3rd Stage in Mysuru, where he reportedly consumed pesticides and fell sick. He was admitted to a private hospital, where he breathed his last. A case has been registered at Vijayanagar Police Station.
