Flavoured milk for school children: Tanveer Sait

September 1, 2017

Mysuru: Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Tanveer Sait has said that flavoured milk will be supplied to school children under ‘Ksheera Bhagya’ scheme. Addressing Sahukar Chennaiah Block Congress workers meeting at Shikshakara Bhavan here on Sunday, Sait said that the authorities are considering to provide flavoured milk under the scheme from Nov.1 as most students are reluctant to drink plain milk.

Pointing out that Mysuru and Raichur districts have been selected for the pilot project to supply flavoured milk, the Minister said that the Government will think of supplying flavoured milk to schools across the State, if positive results are derived from the pilot project. Explaining the achievements of the Congress Government, Sait said that Chief Minister Siddharamaiah should be credited for introducing many welfare schemes such as Anna Bhagya, Ksheera Bhagya etc.

Calling upon the party workers to reach State Government schemes to the doorstep of the people, he said that the Congress always worked for the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden.

Maintaining that all efforts are being made to improve basic infrastructure in N.R. Constituency, Sait assured that he will take up the street vendors’ issue with the DC and come up with a permanent solution for their problems.

AICC Secretary in-charge of Mysuru Division Congress, P.C. Vishnunath, in his address, stressed on the need for popularising the schemes introduced by the Siddharamaiah Government. Calling upon the party workers to strengthen the party from booth level, he urged the partymen to work with unity for bringing the Congress back to power in the 2018 Assembly polls.

City Congress President R. Murthy, ZAK Chairperson Mallige Veeresh, Corporators Shaukat Pasha, Srikantaiah and Rajani Annaiah, leaders M. Shivanna, Suraj Urs, M.S. Atmananda, Balakrishna, Rehana Banu, Lokesh, Radhamani and others were present.
