Flying Sikh, an epitome of struggle

June 22, 2021

Sir,

The sad demise of Milkha Singh has left a void in the sporting history of India. The legendary sprinter with the famed sobriquet ‘Flying Sikh’ is an epitome of struggle both in his life and death.

His month-long battle on the bed for life against fate is analogous to his struggle as a youngster to carve a niche for himself in social as well as athletic realm. He excelled against all odds and brought laurels to the nation at the international arena. He set a trend for umpteen others.

The nation proudly lauds the exemplary track record of the ace athlete and is an inspiring account which can ignite a spark in us to achieve something in life.
