‘Focus on imparting value-based education to students’

Observing that the society will be severely disturbed if our education system gets decayed, Rtn. Dharmapura Narayan, Rotary District 3181 Chairman, has said that educational institutions should not become a trade centre but instead should focus on imparting quality-based education to students.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the college day celebration of Bharat Mata First Grade College and inauguration of new block built at a cost of Rs. 3 crore at Koppa in the taluk recently.

Stressing on the need for providing quality education to students from economically backward sections who are deprived of learning, he complimented Bharat Mata Educational Institutions for its academic excellence.

Mysuru’s St. Thomas Edu-cational institutions President Rev. Fr. Santhosh Kurien, who spoke after inaugurating the programme, said that human values and quality education are of utmost importance to every human being. Students, apart from gaining knowledge should inculcate good culture, he said and added that relentless efforts alone can enable one to achieve the set target.

Bengaluru’s Christ ICSE School Principal Rev. Fr. Augustine, College Principal Rev. Fr. Seebu Sebastian, former Principal Rev. Fr. Joeman K.Joseph, Koppa GP President Savitri Ramanna, ZP Member  V. Rajendra and others were present. Students, who stood top in different contests, were distributed prizes on the occasion.
