Folk artiste murdered

Mandya: A folk artiste was found murdered in broad daylight at K. Shettihalli near Bharathinagar yesterday morning. The deceased is Raghu (27), a Pooja Kunitha artiste and a resident of K. Shettihalli.

Yesterday at about 10.30 am, Raghu left his house to the field on the outskirts of the village to fetch grass, when the miscreants murdered him by slitting his throat and fled from the spot.

The reason for murder is yet to be known and there are no clues about the killers. Raghu, who had good relationship with everyone, was a State-level Pooja Kunitha artiste and used to participate in the folk dance programmes.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Parashuram, ASP Shobharani, Dy. SP Pruthvi and Circle Inspector Shivamallaiah visited the spot and conducted an inspection. 

Deceased Raghu’s mother Ningamma has lodged a complaint with K.M. Doddi Police, who have registered a case and are investigating.
