Nanjangud: Folk artiste Madashetty (85), a Kamsale and Tamboori exponent and a resident of Halepura village, Kavalande Hobli in Nanjangud taluk, passed away at a hospital in Mysuru yesterday.

He leaves behind his wife Puttadevamma, three sons (two are  folk artistes), six daughters, grand-children and a host of relatives and friends.

Madashetty was a recipient of Karnataka Janapada Academy and Kannada Janapada Parishat awards. Last rites were held at his native place Halepura, this afternoon, according to family sources.
