Football League: Narrow win for Challenge Union FC

A goal each by left-out Natho and centre-forward Nyana helped Challenge Union FC to register a narrow 2-1 win over Spirited Youth FC in the Mysore District Football Association (MDFA) ‘C’ Division Football League 2019-20, for the K.G. Subramanyaswamy Memorial Chirag Trophy, which began at the University Football Grounds here yesterday.

Pradeep of Spirited Youth FC reduced the margin for the losers in the 33rd minute. The winners lead 2-0 at half-time.

Earlier, the league was inaugurated in the presence of late K.G. Subramanyaswamy’s sons Prannoy Tej and Prajwal Deep, T. Puttaraju, Vice-President, Karnataka State Football Association, L. Manjunath, Secretary, MDFA, P.Anand, Treasurer, MDFA, Guruswamy, former State player, Narashimiah, former India player and other office-bearers of MDFA.
