Footpath encroachment clearance drive continues in city

Rs. 10,500 fine collected in two days

Mysore/Mysuru: The Mysuru City Traffic Police, who conducted footpath encroachment clearance drives on Aug. 5 and 6, have registered a total of 36 cases, besides issuing 25 notices and collecting a fine of Rs. 10,500.

The drives were conducted by Devaraja, Krishnaraja, Narasimharaja, V.V. Puram and Siddarthanagar Traffic Police in their respective jurisdiction on the two days.

City Police Commissioner Dr. Chandragupta has stated that such drives will continue in city in future too and warned shopkeepers against encroaching footpaths, which hampers the movement of pedestrians.
