Two youths arrested, four bikes worth Rs. 2.5 lakh recovered
Mysore/Mysuru: Two youths, who were stealing bikes to perform wheelie have been arrested by Kuvempunagar Police and have recovered four bikes worth Rs. 2.5 lakh from them.
The accused have been identified as 19-year-old Dhanush of Jyothinagar and 19-year-old Nithin of Sunnadakeri.
Kuvempunagar Police, who had registered a case about a Hero Honda Dawn bike being stolen in front of a house at SBM Colony in Srirampura on May 5, arrested the two youths at about 8 am on Aug. 3 in front of a park in Ramakrishnanagar ‘H’ Block along with a stolen bike. It is learnt that the duo were planning to steal bikes, when the Cops arrested them.
During interrogation, the Cops learnt that the two accused had lifted one bike each in Kuvempunagar and Vidyaranyapuram Police limits and had also lifted two bikes in Alanahalli Police limits and were using the stolen bikes to perform wheelie.
DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Jahnavi and K.R. Sub-Division ACP S.E. Gangadharaswamy guided Kuvempunagar Inspector L. Arun, Sub-Inspectors Radha and S.P. Gopal and staff Anand, Manjunath, Puttappa, Hazarath, Suresh, Nagesh, Yogesh and Satish in the nabbing and recovery operation.
