Former BJP MLA passes away

Bengaluru: C.M. Nimbannavar (77), former BJP MLA from Kalaghatagi Constituency in Dharwad district, passed away following a heart attack at a private hospital in Bengaluru yesterday.

He leaves behind one son and one daughter.

Nimbannavar was suffering from heart related ailments and had come to Bengaluru for treatment. It is learnt that he underwent a bypass surgery 15 days ago.

Nimbannavar, who was elected as Kalaghatagi MLA in 2018, was not given ticket by the BJP in the last election and thus he supported the BJP candidate.

The body was shifted to Kalaghatagi today morning and the last rites will be held later in the day.
