Former Defence Officer Mahadevappa passes away

Mysore/Mysuru: A. Mahadevappa (83), retired Defence Officer and a resident of Kuvempunagar, passed away yesterday evening in city following brief illness.

Mahadevappa had served at the Ammunition Factory in Pimpri, Maharashtra, before retiring.

A native of Antharasanthe village in H.D. Kote taluk, he leaves behind his wife Dakshayini, one daughter, son-in-law and a host of relatives and friends.

Mahadevappa had published many books of health and he was a writer, philanthropist, counsellor and social worker. He was also a recipient of Abdul Kalam National Award and Buddha Bharat Ratna Award among others.

His body was donated to JSS Medical College as per his wish.
