Mysore/Mysuru: M. Sarojamma (85), mother of former MLA Dr. Bharati Shankar, passed away at a private hospital in city yesterday.

She was the wife of retired Assistant Commissioner late N. Lingaiah and sister of former Minister  M. Mallikarjunaswamy.

She leaves behind sons Dr. Bharati Shankar, Dr. Rajendra Kumar, Dr. Suresh Kumar and Ravindra Kumar, daughters Prema Kumari and Swarna Kumari and a host of relatives and friends.

The body was kept at the house in front of the MCC Community Bhavan in Rajendranagar for the public to pay their last respects and the last rites were held at the N.R. Mohalla Burial Grounds today at 12 noon.
