Mysuru: Former Chamarajanagar MP R. Dhruvanarayan flagged off two ambulances for the service of COVID-19 patients of City and District this morning at a function held at the Congress Office here.

A big ambulance has been provided by KPCC and Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee and the free ambulance service will be available for public 24×7. To avail this facility, people can dial 7483487790.

A mini-ambulance has been provided by Dr. M.K. Ashok, former Corporator and President, Mysuru District Congress Publicity Committee. This will be available for public from 6 am to 9 pm.

It can be used for shifting Corona positive patients to any hospital in the district. To take benefit of this service, citizens may call 9844145502 or 9741741554 or 9663360006.

Speaking on the occasion, Dhruvanarayan said his party has dedicated five ambulances for Bengaluru and one for Mysuru. One ambulance for Chamarajanagar will be ready in a day or two.

The purpose of deployment of ambulances from the Congress Party was not for politics but to join hands with the State Government to provide succour to the affected people.

On Chamarajanagar tragedy, he said lack of coordination between the Deputy Commi-ssioners of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar resulted in the death of 24 innocent people. Monitoring of oxygen supply was the prime responsibility of the State Government. However, the incumbent Health Minister Dr. K. Sudhakar has turned out to be most irresponsible in handling Covid crisis, he charged.

Asked about Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister K.S. Eshwarappa blaming a particular community behind the bed blocking scam, the former MP said it shows the thinking of BJP leaders.

Dr. Pushpa Amaranth, President, Karnataka Pradesh Women Congress Committee, Dr. B.J. Vijaykumar, President, Mysuru District Congress Committee and others were present at the event.
