Former VCs lambast Govt. over Search Panel Selection

August 1, 2020

Bengaluru: The Forum of Former Vice-Chancellors of Karnataka (FVCK) has alleged that the State Government was not following regulations while appointing members to Search Committees for Selection of Vice-Chancellors to State-run Universities.

In a statement released to media, the Forum stated that while nominating members to Vice-Chancellors Selection Committees (Search Committee) the State Government was nominating persons who are less qualified than the candidates applied for the post.

The Forum has urged the Government to consider and follow norms and regulations while appointing members to Search Committees and also during selecting Vice-Chancellors to Universities, as the recent selections and nominations and appointments by the Government are criticised by public.
