Mysore/Mysuru: Backward Classes Welfare Minister Shivaraj Tangadagi performed guddali puja for the construction of Medical and Engineering Students Hostel being built by the Department in Bhavya Bharat Layout of Srirampura here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Tangadagi said that the establishment of Government Medical and Engineering Colleges has been of huge help to the backward, economically backward and middle class families.
Pointing out that the Government is also focusing on construction of student hostels along with these Colleges, he said that the new hostel in Mysuru is being constructed by the Backward Classes Welfare Department at an estimated cost of Rs.3.26 crore. He has directed the agency which has taken up the construction to complete the works within the scheduled time.
MLA T.S. Srivatsa, MLC C.N. Manjegowda, Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department Secretary Tulasi Maddineni, Deputy Mayor Dr. G. Roopa, Department’s District Officer Raghavendra and other officials were present.
