Four arrested for dacoity

Nearly four months after the incident, the Malavalli Rural Police have cracked a Highway dacoity case with the arrest of four Highway robbers.

The arrested have been identified as Abdul Salam, 28, Syed Mujahid, 33, Syed Rooman, 27, all residents of Ramanagaram and Salman Khan, 24, a resident of Shamanna Garden in Bengaluru.

Nayaz Pasha, a resident of Muslim Block in Malavalli town,  in his complaint lodged with the Malavalli Rural Police, said that he was travelling in a  Tata Super Ace Vehicle towards Malavalli on Kollegal – Malavalli Road at about 6. 45 pm on Nov. 6, 2016, when 5 persons who came in two motorcycles intercepted his vehicle near Salam Bore and decamped with Rs. 2.5 lakh cash and a cell phone after assaulting him.

The Police, who began investigation, arrested four of the five accused following a tip off and   during interrogation, it was learnt that the accused had robbed Nayaz Pasha of only Rs. 25,000.

The Police are on the look out for the fifth accused Muhid of Ramanagaram, who has gone absconding.
