Four-day National Convention on Quality Concepts in city from Dec.1

Mysuru: The Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Mysuru Chapter, in association with the JSS Science and Technology University, will organise a four-day National Convection on Quality Concepts (NCQC) in Mysuru from Dec. 1.

The 31st edition of NCQC being organised by QCFI is based on the theme “Quality Concepts: Creating Value to the Society” and will be held in the JSS IT campus in Manasagangothri. The event will be inaugurated by Medium and Heavy Industries R.V. Deshpande. Suttur Seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji will grace the occasion.

Addressing press persons at SJCE yesterday, Director of QCFI and President & Whole Time Director of Automotive Axles Limited Dr. N. Muthukumar said that the four-day event will witness participation of about 540 organisations from across India, presentation of about 1,750 case studies and over 10,000 delegates and guests who have registered for the programme.

The competitions and events of the four-day programme include: Case study presentations on quality concepts, knowledge test, Kaizen exhibition, model exhibition, skit contest, essay/poster/poem /slogan competition and a live quiz contest.

Apart from these, the event will also include some value added attractions like a saplings plantation, technical exhibition, home Kaizen/5S presentation by home makers and the green revolution initiative. While those having qualified in the State-level contest are participating in this NCQC, the winners of NCQC-2017 will be eligible to participate in the international contest to be held at Singapore, he added.

The third day of the event will include prize distribution to the winners of various contests. Later, the participants will be taken on industrial visits in Mysuru and Bengaluru on day four, said JSS Science and Technology University VC Dr. B.G. Sangameshwar.

Some of the benefits of these quality concepts include: Development of team work and group synergy, self-development and mutual-development of the employees, improvisation of documentation, communication and presentation skills, enhancement of problem solving capabilities, planning and analytical skills and development of decision making abilities among the participating team members, whereas; the organisations are benefited by employee involvement in routine problem-solving, improvisation of product quality and services, enhancement of process capability, increase in productivity, management – workers harmonious relationship and continuous Human Resource Development.
