Four persons arrested for chain-snatching, robbery

Gold chain, cash and laptop recovered

Mysuru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) Police on Jan.25 have arrested four persons on charges of snatching gold chain and robbery and have recovered a gold chain, cash and a laptop besides seizing two bikes used for the crime by them.

The arrested persons have been identified as 20-year-old Mohammed Khasif of Rajendranagar, 22-year-old Aleem Ahmed of Rajiv Nagar, 20-year-old Mohammed Khaleem of Belavatta village and 19-year-old Khasif Ahmed of Kesare. The CCB Police, who found the four accused standing on KRS Road along with two bikes in a suspicious manner, took them into custody and on interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of snatching a laptop from a person, who was waiting for an autorickshaw on Shivaji Road in N.R. Mohalla, snatching a vanity bag of a woman who was travelling in an autorickshaw in V.V. Puram Police limits and snatching a 25-grams gold chain worth about Rs. 1,07,000 of a woman in Alanahalli Police limits.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the CCB Police have recovered the stolen goods and Rs.12,000 cash from them.
