On June 3, Balasubramanyam received a message on his WhatsApp number pertaining to availability of part time jobs, where he was required to invest money and get huge profit.

Believing the message, Balasubramanyam paid Rs. 150 and joined the WhatsApp and Telegram group. Following instructions of the Group Admin, Balasubramanyam initially invested Rs. 9,000, Rs. 28,000 the second time and Rs. 88,000 the third time.
