Freak mishap: Baby boy dies after being hit by father’s vehicle

Chamarajanagar: In a freak mishap, a baby boy who had sustained serious injuries after he was hit by Tata Sumo vehicle, which his father was reversing, has succumbed to injuries at a hospital on Tuesday.

The deceased baby boy is Rohit (one year and 10 months), son of Sathyaraj and Shakthivelu couple of Bommanahalli village in the taluk.

Sathyaraj, who had parked his vehicle in a shed, went to to take his vehicle on Tuesday evening. Little did he know that his son had followed him and was standing behind the vehicle. Sathyaraj started the vehicle and began to take it in the reverse direction when it hit his son Rohit.

Rohit, who sustained serious injuries was rushed to a hospital in Talawadi, where he succumbed to injuries. Ramasamudra Rural Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
