Free distribution of food grains for BPL and APL Card holders

Mysuru; Department of Food & Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, through its Public Distribution System (PDS), is distributing  food grains to the beneficiaries released under various programmes of the Union Government “National Food Security Act (NSFA)” and “Pradhanmantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY)”, for the month of April-2022.

Under the Antyodaya Scheme, 20 kg of Rice and 20 kg of Ragi and 5 kg of Rice per unit will be distributed free of cost.

Under Priority House Hold (PHH) BPL programme, 4 kg of Rice and 1 kg of Ragi per unit, an additional 1 kg per unit  and under priority quota, 5 kg of Rice per unit will be distributed free of cost.

Under Non Priority House Hold (NPHH) Scheme APL Card holder will get Rice at  Rs. 15 per kg. A single member card will be given 5 kg rice and for APL cards with two or more members 10 kg of rice. The card holders can get their food grains at any food price depots of their choice since the Government has given the facility of portability of ration card across fair price depots of district/State.

In Mysuru district, there are 50,546 Antyodaya, 6,52,044 BPL and1,06,972 APL cards totalling 8,09,562 ration cards. From the 1st of every month till the last day and from 7 am to 8 pm the food grains will be distributed under NFSA & PMGKAY programmes. Also E-KYC work of remaining members of ration cards can also be done during the hours. The card holders are asked to get their quota of food grains immediately after the completion of KYC work.

A final deadline of April end has been fixed to complete the KYC procedures and no fee is required to be paid to get the KYC jobs done. Ration card holders must follow COVID-19 protocols while visiting fair price depots. Any complaint regarding the PDS may be given to the respective Tahsildar Office or Joint Director Office Food and Civil Supplies Department.
