Mysore/Mysuru: Minhaj Interfaith and Welfare Foundation (MIWF), India, focuses on serving those in need, without discriminating on caste, colour, creed or religion.
On the occasion of World Hearing Day on March 3, MIWF created awareness about hearing care among the general public in city by conducting free screening camp at Sahara School for Children with Special Needs in Udayagiri and identifying people having hearing loss.
MIWF, which runs the Special School, aims to provide a suitable environment for developing the children’s educational as well as social skills. Children are given tasks to enhance their mental growth and become independent. Miwf also aims to extend services to adolescents and senior citizens with various kinds of disabilities.
During the screening camp, 15 individuals with hearing loss from various parts of Mysuru and Mandya districts were identified for providing hearing aids. The beneficiaries were aged between 5 years and 67 years.
Corporator Ayub Khan Udayagiri Police Inspector Sudhakar, Audiologist at District Disability Rehabilitation Centre Irfana Husen and Ear Mould Technician Jayaram were chief guests on the occasion.
