‘Fruit Park’ project launched in Ward 3

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of World Environment Day yesterday, a unique programme was launched in Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Ward 3 where a ‘Fruit Park’ was inaugurated under the aegis of Navbharat Nirman Trust and Aniketana Seva Trust.

The project aims at growing 100 fruit-bearing trees that will be beneficial for residents as well as for animals and birds.  Titular head of Mysore royal family Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, former International cricketer Javagal Srinath and Yoga Federation of Mysore President and GSS Foundation Head D. Srihari inaugurated the project.

President of Navbharat Nirman Trust K.V. Sridhar said that the project has been launched to preserve native fruit-bearing trees so that the next generation too would know about them. Yaduveer Wadiyar gave a call to shun plastic. Aniketana Seva Trust President K.V. Mallesh was present. Environment activists Y. Ramesh, Lokesh Mosale and international athlete Kalpana were felicitated.
