G20 University Connect ‘Engaging Young Minds’ session on May 15

Mysore/Mysuru: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), New Delhi, Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi and National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), Bengaluru, have organised a session on G20 University Connect ‘Engaging Young Minds’ in collaboration with the Department of International Relations, Maharaja’s College, University of Mysore (UoM), at Vijnana Bhavan in Manasagangothri, on May 15 between 2 pm and 5.30 pm.

The official G20 Video ‘Theme of G20 Indian Presidency 2023’ will be screened on the occasion. Prof. D. Suba Chandran, Dean, School of Conflict and Security Studies, NIAS, will speak about the workshop. Prof. N.K. Lokanath, Vice-Chancellor, UoM, will deliver the inaugural address. Prof. C.A. Sreedhara, Principal, Maharaja’s College, will give special remarks.

2.30 pm: Session-1 on ‘Young Scholars Round Table on G20.’ Harini Madhusudan, Ph.D Scholar, NIAS, speaks on ‘Space Technology and Governance: Agenda for G20.’ Akriti Sharma, Ph.D Scholar, NIAS, on ‘Climate Action: Agenda for G20.’ Padma Shri Anandan, Research Associate, NIAS, on ‘Maritime Governance: Agenda for G20.’ K. Varsha, PG Scholar, Madras Christian College, Chennai, on ‘Addressing Maritime Plastic: What G20 can do?’ Renuka Hiremath, Ph.D Scholar, Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, on ‘Green Energy Transition and Sustainable Development: Solar Agriculture.’ G. Harish Raya, Post-Graduate Scholar, Maharaja’s College, UoM, on ‘Heritage Conservation: Technology and Heritage Conservation.’ Gadilingappa, Ph.D Scholar, VTU, Belagavi, on ‘Renewable Energy: EVs and Batteries.’ D. Kavya, PG Scholar, UoM, on ‘Ecosystem for Disaster Management: Building a resilient world equipped to deal with disasters.’

3.30 pm: Experts’ Panel Discussion. Dr. Seshadri Chari, Member, Governing Council, RIS, New Delhi, Prof. K.S. Rangappa, CSIR-Emeritus Scientist, Ambassador of Hokkaido University, Japan, Dr. N. Krishna Prasad, Managing Director, Nature Bell Wellness, Mysuru, will be the panellists.
