Gamaka exponent Krishna Rao remembered

Mysuru: Kumaravyasa Gurukula had organised ‘Samskruta Sourabha,’ a programme in memory of Gamaka exponent late Krishnagiri Krishna Rao last evening at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road here.

Speaking on the occasion, Kannada Scholar Dr. T.V. Venkatachala Shastry opined that Krishna Rao was a Gamaka Star and sought a Comprehensive Volume on the great person.

He bemoaned that in the present modern society, elders are easily forgotten unless they have left behind good wealth (materialistic).

Retired Deputy Director of Oriental Research Institute (ORI) Dr. T.V. Satyanarayana said that the works of Krishna Rao had immortalised the great personality.

Gamaka Vidwan Dr. Sanatkumar Somayaji recited ‘Sitarama Sousheelya’. Retired Joint Director of Department of Collegiate Education Vid. T.N. Prabhakar also recited Gamaka.

Scholars K. Ramachandra, Tulasi Ramachandra, Ranganath, Annapurna, Satyalakshmi, Keshavamurthy, Shuba Raghavendra and others were present.
