Ganabharathi to host grand violin concert by Mysuru trios

Ganabharathi, Mysuru, has organised Violin Trio concert by Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy, Vid. H.N. Bhaskar and Vidu. Pruthvi Bhaskar at Veene Seshanna Bhavana, Adichunchanagiri Road, Kuvempunagar, on  May 24 at 6 pm.

They will be accompanied by Vid. G.S. Ramanujan on mridanga and Vid. A. Radhesh on mridanga. The above concert is sponsored by Vidu. G.S. Rajalakshmi and family in memory of G.S. Kamala.

PROFILES

Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy is a senior and leading violinist hailing from Mysuru. He has earned the respect of fellow musicians, critics, students and music-lovers alike, both as an extremely able performer and as a highly accomplished teacher. He had the good fortune of learning under Parur Sundaram Iyer and later from his illustrious sons M.S. Anantharaman and the legendary M.S. Gopalakrishnan.

Adding to his impressive contributions to the cause of music is his role in founding the Sri Thyagaraja Sangeetha Sabha, which he has served with great devotion for over two decades and a half, making it one of the most respected  organisations in Mysuru.

Narasimhamurthy has won several awards such as ‘Vishesha Acharya Award’ and ‘The Pappa Venkataramiah Award.’

Vid. H.N. Bhaskar, a renowned violinist, is the son and disciple of Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy and Vidu. H.N. Rajalakshmi of Mysuru. Recognised for his emotive and skilful playing, he studied under the legendary Violin Maestro Padma Shri Parur M.S. Gopalakrishan.

A ‘Top’ graded artiste of AIR and Doordarshan, Bhaskar has collaborated with top-notch musicians worldwide, showcasing his talent in fusion and Jazz shows. A Sangeeth Natak Akademi (Govt. of India) Yuva awardee, he has performed at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, NYC, Sydney Opera House and Glastonbury Festival, England. Bhaskar’s compositions and albums, released in India and abroad, reflect his global influence and acclaim.

Vidu. Pruthvi Bhaskar is the granddaughter of Vid. H.K. Narasimhamurthy and daughter of Vid. H.N. Bhaskar. She has mastered music both vocal and violin. She has performed in many well-known platforms. State Govt. has recognised her talent and awarded ‘Kalashree’ from Nehru Bal Bhavan.
