Mysuru: The cake- eating contest organised yesterday at the Cake Festival in Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry saw some exciting contests.

In the students’ category, 21 students had participated. However, through the draw of lottery 10 were picked up to eat 300 grams cake. R.R. Ganesh of Gopalaswamy College bagged the first prize by gobbling the 300 gram cake in 70 seconds. Sadvidya College’s Likith Gowda was placed second eating it in 72 seconds, while Mahajana College’s G. Manjunath came third eating it in 75 seconds.

In the public cake-eating competition, 21 people participated. In this category Shivananda was placed first consuming the cake in 76 seconds, Ningaiah came second eating it in 78 seconds and Purushotham third.

It was interesting to watch the contestants eating the cake so fast. While a few did manage to digest the cake, most of them had to stop midway with tears in their eyes, unable to finish it.
